2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 10,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 17 years to get that many views.

Important Selection Criteria

How do you find the best firm to help with your remodeling project?  With so many selections, of products, design and installation, it is critical to select the best firm.

Does the company have a showroom?  How does it appear?  You can expect similar results in your home.

Clients need information to make the best decisions.  Does the firm speak before listening?  Are they too rushed to give you the proper time to educate yourself about the selection process?

Look for a variety of quality grades to choose from.  There is value at every grade for the knowledgeable consumer.

Look for designers who have a track record with the same firm and are committed to education.  Feel comfortable with your designer and their knowledge of the product.

Make sure you get a floor plan with elevations, specification of products and services and an agreement detailing terms and conditions.  Proper documentation will reduce unforeseen costs.

Look for a firm that delivers personal service right through your install.

Demand a firm with integrity.  Look for a good reputation, warranty and client references.
